Whatley "The Cussing Mayor"
Mayor Whatley, when using language we can repeat, accuses the RCAA members of not paying their share of taxes. Since RCAA members don't get services from Midlothian, why SHOULD they pay taxes?
Why the "Cussing Mayor?" According to kenchambers.net, the mayor uses executive session to curse members of the community. While we question the use of his language, we also question the legality of using executive session to express personal opinions about someone. Is that was executive session was designed for? Does that fall into the authorized use of executive session? We sincerely doubt it.
The "Cussing Mayor" has complained that people outside the city pay the same rate to attend the senior center as those inside Midlothian, and uses that as justification to annex surrounding areas. Who sets the rates? The mayor and city council. He's complaining about the rates that he himself set!
The "Cussing Mayor" has also complained about other rates paid by non-citizens, including fire protection. Who sets the rates? You got it -- the mayor and city council.
The "Cussing Mayor" apparently doesn't care about the senior citizens in the annexation area who cannot afford to pay the additional taxes, and don't need the additional services. Could this be why Whatley doesn't relate to people on a budget?
While the "Cussing Mayor" thinks those in the rural areas have all the amenities that he has, and that they should be paying the same in taxes, these pictures show otherwise:
Who is getting the benefits of taxes? Do you think the RCAA group will get the same benefits if they're annexed? No, we don't, either.
