Hypocrisy -- Fryer
"A Tale of Two Faces"
"Several hundred Midlothian residents continue to share a deep concern about the unwarranted expansion of our town. In our opinion, some of our elected officials have become fiscally irresponsible and refuse to listen to the citizens, who for the most part, elected them. We also feel that some of our local government are not acting in the best interest of the whole community. We understand controlled growth, with purpose, is inevitable; however, it appears that many decisions made during each city hall meeting are not "for the good" of most of the residents, but "special interest groups" appear to benefit greatly!
"Unfortunately, an appellate court ruling ... does grant a home rule charter city's council the right to refuse a reference petition for annexation. But let's make this very clear, the City Council could have legally allowed an election on this issue to take place and for obvious reasons elected not to do so. Nonetheless, by signing, you're saying you "do" want say-so in the process. Whether you did or did not agree to the last approved annexation ordinance, you did state you wanted it put before a vote! A capital expenditure of that magnitude should not be left up to just a council of seven.
"If left up to this current City Council, it seems it won't be too long from now that Midlothian will be just another Cedar Hill, Duncanville, DeSoto, or what may be worse, another Plano or Addison. Let's keep a handle on this City, let's maintain the country atmosphere that most of us have enjoyed for many years and why most others moved here. Please get involved with what your City Council is trying to do, and say no before it's too late. I caution you, it won't be long and you may not be able to afford to live here anymore!"
OUR MISSION
To preserve the peaceful, county lifestyle that Midlothian possesses (which is quickly disappearing)
Dusty Fryer, President, R. I. G. H. T.
Excellent Words, Councilman Fryer.
What made you change your mind 180 degrees? Was it an epiphany, or your pocketbook?

These are the words of our Mayor Pro-Tem, prior to being annexed into our city. Considering his hostile comments then, and what the RCAA people are capable of doing to our city.
To Park, or Not to Park
We were astonished to see a travel trailer and a trailer parked in the grass in a residential neighborhood within the city limits. The area where these trailers is parked is the old roadway for 663, prior to being straightened, but is obviously grass, now.
Assuming there would be ordinances about abandoned vehicles, parking on unimproved surfaces, and maybe even parking on city property, we wondered how someone could be so blatant as to park there.
It's even more amazing that a resident in the house next door hasn't reported it to the city code department.
Residence of Councilman "Dusty" Fryer
Then again, there's a lot this resident apparently doesn't see. It's been reported that two of the "Turk 182" signs have been stolen within a few yards of Mr. Fryer's residence, but we've heard nothing of his calling the police to report seeing the thefts.
